What’s a Raspberry Pi?
The Raspberry Pi is a credit-sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video.

When will the device be available to purchase?
We anticipate the device will be available to the general public later in 2011 – we were hoping to hit the end of November, but right now December’s looking more likely.

How much will it cost?
We hope to be selling the Model A for $25 and the Model B for $35.

can not wait to get my hands on one or two of them 8)

I've read about those.  I'm looking forward to hearing your review of it!

Another Cheap computer

I looked at the Raspberry Pi as a desktop platform for my daughter to work on but it was a little daunting to see all the raw coding and serious work that went into setting one up.  Instead I found the Android MiniPC for about twice the cost, that worked well to get a little computer set up for my daughter.  Aside from the TERRIBLE wifi reception it gets, it has been an awesome little device.  I predict that these two little devices will really change the way computing is done all over the world (but even in here in the US).

The Raspberry Pi looks like it will be most useful for teaching students HOW to set them up so they are not as trepidatious as I was to try out some new technology!
