Notification when someone replies to a comment

Not yet sure:
Moderator functions for feed owners/maintainers

Didn't understand this:
Bookmarks (could be an "unpublished" comment)

"Exit" menu option

Why do we need "Exit" option since Android is already managing resources?

Exit option

Many geeks like Android because it gives them complete control of their device.  Not being able to shut down an app on demand won't go well with those people. Plus the "press and hold the play button to dismiss the notification" function isn't exactly obvious UI design.

Please understand, I'm not criticizing- just trying to be helpful.

Fair enough, I'll add the option to completely shut down the app on demand.

Re "Tap & Hold", probably stop button in the notification itself would do the job? Or should the notification disappear on "Pause" ?

Play/Pause

How about a play/pause button combined with a small "X" in the corner to dismiss the notification?

That makes sense.

That makes sense.

I'd like to see an additional

I'd like to see an additional way to view the comments.

Assuming that the app "takes off" and is used more often and more extensively in the future, the list of comments for each episode will be very long.

How about adding a visual indicator to the "Now Playing" screen that shows the location of comments in the episode? These could be indicated by hash marks above or below the time indicator. I will try to sketch up a visual sample later today to show you what I mean.

The next thing needed with this would be the ability to view those comments while the episode is playing.

The design could have "comment popup mode" so that while the episode is playing, a "popup" would be seen over the album art to show the current comment as the episode is being played... giving the user the ability to click on the comment to be taken to the comment screen so they can see the replies and reply if desired.

If the user takes no action, then the comment would disappear after a set number of seconds (30?) or when the next comment comes up... whichever comes first.

Notifications

Goode ideas TRS-80.  Qaiser and I have talked about "toast" notifications before and that's on his list, but I really like the idea of the Popup Videos style of comment discovery.  While I'm thinking about it, it could also be very cool to have an OPTIONAL audio tone overlay when a comment is present.  It would have to be very subtle and definitely have a very obvious OFF switch, but as I'm driving down the road listening to a podcast, having a small tone let me know when there's a comment would be cool.  Maybe even have a different tone when a "friend" comments.  That way, if there's one guy whose comments always make you laugh, you could get a special tone for him.

I made a mockup of the comments hashmarks on the EDL app, but I cant figure out a way to show the picture here on the forums.

I posted it to the ElementOpie G+ community so you can see it there.

Uploading an image

Hi TSR-80,

There are two options for uploading images here.  First, you can link to something hosted somewhere else (Dropbox, etc) or secondly you can click the the list image button at the top of the editing window.  On my screen it's the 6th button from the right on the top bar- between the eraser and the Flash logo.
